Handmade Parade 2008

Hebden Bridge Handmade Parade is set to return to the town this summer thanks to an Arts Council grant – and we expect it to be even bigger and brighter than last year!

HEADS has been awarded a £22,908 Grants for the Arts award from the Arts Council England, Yorkshire.  The grant will fund the project management of the parade and organisational development costs to help secure the future of HEADS beyond 2009.  The Lloyds TSB Foundation for England and Wales has also agreed to support HEADS for a second year.

HEADS will be teaming up with Hebden Bridge-based Thingumajig Theatre again to produce a visually stunning parade that kicks off at 2pm on Saturday June 20th and will swing through the streets of the town, ending with a picnic and music at Calder Holmes Park.

Community workshops begin in May and public workshops in June, to create costumes and puppets for the event.  Further information on these will be issued nearer the time.  For more details, visit the website at www.hebdenbridgeparade.org

We are looking for dozens of volunteers to help at workshops, to distribute publicity and to steward on the day.  Email HEADS on info@heads.org.uk or call 01422 846060

We welcome contact from anyone who’d like to get involved!  See you all on parade day!
